ASQ Section 705 currently supports two charities, Helping Hands of Vegas Valley and the Clark County School District.

Helping Hands of Vegas Valley

FOOD DRIVE

Helping Hands of Vegas Valley serves seniors in southern Nevada at no cost. Their goal is to assist seniors to remain independent. Established in 2000, Helping Hands of Vegas Valley is a non-profit organization with the mission to provide free, assistive services to senior citizens in Southern Nevada, allowing them to maintain their independence while improving health and daily living. Their Services include Transportation, Food Pantry and Respite Care Vouchers. By making a contribution of canned or non-perishable food items we will be assisting low-income senior citizens who often have to make the choice between eating, buying prescriptions or paying necessary bills to remain independent in their own home.

Please remember to bring your “Pop Tabs” to the next ASQLV meeting. The little, seemingly insignificant tab you pull to open your aluminum cans helps the Ronald McDonald House provide a safe and comfortable place that they can call “home” while their children recover in nearby hospitals. They collect these pop tabs, recycle them, and the proceeds go directly to Ronald McDonald House families. When a family needs assistance with travel costs, clothing and hygiene items, or the costs associated with the death of a child, the Pop Tab funds are there to help. The Pop Tab program is an environmentally smart, community friendly program which focuses on separating the pull tab from aluminum beverage cans. The tab is a higher grade aluminum than the can, resulting in a higher dollar return per pound than cans.  Anyone and everyone can collect pop tabs. Get everyone you know involved. It’s easy, fun, and a great project for schools and community groups. Simply: 1.) Pull the tab off any aluminum can. 2.) Collect the tabs. 3.) Bring them in to the next ASQ meeting. (We will drop them off as one delivery)
